Our grade 2 listed farmhouse has an adjacent 14th Century barn, which is home to sheep in the winter.
The Farmhouse has three thoughtfully and individually appointed bedrooms, a guest lounge with wood burning stove and a relaxing dining room, where you can enjoy a delicious locally sourced breakfast including our own free range eggs.
The Farm is less than three miles from the Market Town of Masham, home to two breweries, Yorkshire’s largest Market Square,where you will find a selection of pubs, cafes, shops and more.
We pride ourselves on our relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where a warm welcome awaits.
Firs Farm is a small sheep Farm where guests are welcome to roll up their sleeves and get involved with lambing, which starts in early March.
The Dales has many market towns, castles, Abbeys, as well as a large variety of attractions to suit all tastes. Probably the most famous is the UNESCO world Heritage site of Fountains Abbey.
Richard and Sarah are keen walkers and love the outdoors. Whether you want to go for a walk or drive through the Dales to see the moors, the wildflower meadows or visit a local Market Town Richard and Sarah are more than happy to share their extensive knowledge to help you get the most from your Stay. Alternatively you are equally welcome to come and relax in beautiful surroundings.
All bookings must be accompanied by a deposit equal to your first night’s stay.
This can be taken over the phone by bank transfer or via our website.
Final payment is accepted by credit/debit card or cash. We do not take cheques.
If you need to cancel your stay, please advise us as soon as possible, at least 7 days before your arrival for a full refund. If you cancel within 7 days, we will refund you if we are able to re-let the room, or you can rebook for another date.
We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover for unexpected cancellations.
We will only cancel your accommodation in exceptional circumstances, and a full refund will be given.
We love dogs, dogs are part of our life on Firs Farm, and they are very welcome on the understanding that guests bring well-behaved dogs, which are not allowed on the furniture or beds, nor in the dining room. Please do not leave them in the bedroom unattended.
We would also remind guests that we have livestock on the farm, so would be grateful if you would keep your dog under control, or on a lead. We can show you where to exercise your dog.
If your dog does do any damage, we hope that you accept that it is reasonable to ask you to cover the cost of the damage. We can provide you with a water bowl in the bedroom and are more than happy to supply you with dog towels and a dog bed if necessary. Please let us know if you wish to bring your dog with you.
There is a £10 per night charge.
As we are in a rural location and there is only one taxi firm in Masham, we suggest that if you know you would like a taxi, you book it before you arrive.
